A school has shut after three staff members have tested positive for coronavirus.
Ian Hampshire, Head of School at Greensted Junior School in Laindon says the school has been deeply cleaned after the cases.
He said: "As a precautionary measure, we have closed the school until half term on Friday October 23 as three members of staff have tested positive. We have undergone an intensive deep clean and put in other control measures to mitigate the risk of the virus again being brought into school and transmitted.
"The school will re-open after half term on Monday 2nd November. I would like to take this opportunity to thank and applaud the parents of Greensted for their swift action and messages of support for our school."
