A FERRET was rescued by police after getting into some traffic.
Essex Police were out in the Ashingdon area on Tuesday when they spotted the ferret.
A spokesman for the Rochford Policing Team said: "Protecting the vulnerable, means we look out for everyone, even our furry friends.
"Whilst patrolling the Rochford Ashingdon area, this little one was found running back and forth across the road and in between cars.
"In the interests of the safety of all, it was conveyed to a local vet to be looked over, where it was cared for and later reunited with its owner."
