A charity set up after a woman was left with brain injuries from an anaphylactic reaction to a severe nut allergy is making a donations plea for her birthday.

The Amy May Trust is urging supporters to dig deep to mark  Amy's birthday. The tust was established after the Westcliff-based Amy May Shead, a high-flying producer for hit ITV show This Morning, was catastrophically brain injured from an anaphylactic reaction to a severe nut allergy while on holiday with friends in the Bulgarian capital of Budapest in 2014.

A spokesman said: "Sending Happy Birthday wishes to this special one today. Amy, have a wonderful day! To allow The Trust to function, we rely heavily on donations from our community. If you would like to donate in aid of Amy’s Birthday, to help us in our work supporting Amy, educating on the seriousness of nut allergies and our campaign to improve the lives of those living with a nut allergy, please use the buttons below."
