EVERY animal lover knows the anguish when their pet is unwell – but Drove Vets is on hand to put your mind at rest.

In these times of social-distancing, the clinic has set up PetsApp, whereby you can talk to experienced veterinary staff from the comfort of your own home.

Ed Roberts, director at Drove, said: “We are advising our clients to pre-download the app and familiarise yourself with it for when you need to use it. This is a great option not only for clients that are currently shielding, but also for clients that are busy working from home, struggling with childcare, or not able to reach a branch due to public transport restrictions. We are really pleased to have this up and running to make it as easy as possible for our clients to access veterinary care in this time of change”

Mr Roberts says around 40 per cent of queries can be resolved through a PetsApp appointment, with no need to go to the clinic in person. You can even send a question about your pet with a related photo, order repeat prescriptions or organise a video visit with your four-legged friend if they are currently an in-patient.

Drove Vets can trace its roots in Swindon all the way back to 1839, with, in more recent times, The Hewer father and son team becoming very well known throughout the town for their practice at The Grange in Drove Road.

A purpose-built hospital was created at 252 Croft Road in 1988, and later extended and refurbished in 2005, and the practice now boasts a network of fully-equipped surgeries in and around Swindon, Royal Wootton Bassett and Marlborough.
