THE rate of Covid-19 in Southend has risen past 100 for the first time since the second wave began.
Official government data for cases of Covid-19 in Southend shows the rate of cases per 100,000 people rose from 88.5 on November 2, to 104.3 the next day.
On Novemer 4, which is the latest set of data available, this fell to 101, with a total of 185 cases per 100,000 people in the previous seven days.

In total, Southend has recorded 1,731 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
A testing centre at a former care home in Westcliff has been set up, which is testing 200 people a day.
In the past seven days, the East of England recorded 6,885 Covid-19 cases per 100,000 people, with an case rate of 110.4.
In England, 136,949 cases were recorded, with a rate of 243.3.
