POLICE officers and safety teams have been keeping watch over gamers picking up their new Xboxes.
The Xbox Series X and Series S launched across the UK today, with shoppers queuing up outside stores for click and collect orders of the console during the second UK lockdown.
At the Game store in Southend High Street, a steady queue of customers could be seen awaiting their orders.
The customers were overseen by police officers from the Southend Community Policing Team and Southend Business Improvement District.
A spokesman for Safer Southend said: "An early start on the High Street today with colleagues from Southend Police and Southendbid keeping eyes on the Xbox release to make sure everything goes smoothly. #SafeAndWell #CSOonSea #XboxSeriesS."
