FURIOUS Southend United fans locked the gates to Roots Hall last night following the Shrimpers’ 6-1 defeat to local rivals Colchester United.
Blues sit bottom of the League Two table without a win in 16 matches so far this season.
And their disastrous campaign sank to new depths with a thrashing at the Community Stadium in the EFL Trophy.
Supporters, who are not allowed at matches right now due to the coronavirus pandemic, displayed their displeasure by stopping the team coach being able to gain access back into the car park at the Shrimpers stadium.
The players and manager Mark Molesley were forced to wait until someone was called to cut open the lock.
It is also believed eggs were thrown at the team coach.
