EXCITING plans to convert a disused industrial unit in Rowley Regis into a distillery with a bar have been submitted to planners.
Jordan Lunn of West Midlands Distillery has applied to convert the unit on Powke Lane.
The move comes as great news for the area as the Netherton firm runs Dr Eamers' Distillery Bar - a gin bar - on the Waterfront in Brierley Hill.
The application submitted to Sandwell Council notes that: "We will be using the proposed site as our distillery for the manufacture of spirits and also propose a taproom/bar that opens on weekends to allows us to do talks, experiences, tours and showcase our products."
The family-run operation has distilled and brewed award-winning gins and liqueurs for generations.
The family live in Rowley Regis.
Jordan came up with the name Dr Eamer’s in a nod to his childhood nickname, dreamer.
The proposal will be considered by planners.
