DRIVERS could face delays until next week while roadworks are carried out.
The Drive, in Dovercourt, has been closed so patching work can take place to repair the road's surface.
The work will involve removing a part of the surface around a pothole and placing a new patch of road surface in its place.
The road has been closed from its junction with Fronks Road to its junction with Lower Marine Parade for about 400 metres.
An Essex County Council spokesman said the closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken.
An alternative route is available via Wick Lane, Hall Lane, Fronks Road and vice versa.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the
closure.
The road is set to reopen on Tuesday, December 8.
