AN artisan crisp company based in Wormingford has launched a new meaty flavour but without any animals involved.
Fairfields Farm has unveiled a plant-based beef flavour following the rise in demand for vegan products.
Meat eaters and vegans will be able to enjoy the Rib of Beef Crisps.
The crisps are produced using hand selected potatoes grown on Fairfields Farm just metres away from the purpose-built crisp factory.
Fairfields Farm says the product is the "taste of a delicious roast dinner in a bag."
Laura Strathern, co-founder of Fairfields Farm, said: "We've had so many requests to launch a roast beef flavour, however our vegan customers are very important to us, so we wanted to ensure that whatever we created would appeal to both meat eaters and those following a plant-based diet.
“The new Rib of Beef crisps are full-flavoured and delicious and we expect them to be very popular."
The crisps, at 80p per bag, are available at the East of England Co-op and online from www.fairfieldsfarmcrisps.co.uk.
Fairfields Farm's other vegan flavours include Bacon & Tomato, Lightly Sea Salted, Sweet Chilli and Sea Salt & Aspall Cyder Vinegar.
