A FOX was found in the early hours of yesterday morning with its head stuck in a watering can.

A milklady on her morning round came across the trapped fox and took it to South Essex Wildlife Hospital.

After a quick examination, the watering can was removed. But before the fox could be placed into a carrier it did a lap of the consultation room causing quite the commotion.

A spokesperson for the hospital said: “The watering can was removed without too much of a problem but as Sue was about to put the lethargic animal into a carrier it made a sudden bid for freedom and a brief battle ensued.

“Sleep Sue lost. The fox did several wall of death laps of the consult room before being captured.

“Thank goodness it didn’t escape in the prep room where the damage to the equipment in there would have been worse! Just goes to show wildlife can always surprise us.”
