A spokesman from Castle Point Council, said: "From Monday, as part of increased arrangements for testing, a new collect and drop off-centre is being provided at the Castle Point Council Offices, on Kiln Road, Benfleet.
"This is where residents who do not have Covid symptoms or who are not a known contact of people with symptoms can visit to collect a test to carry out at home.
"You can collect a test kit from the main entrance to the council offices and return the completed test to the same place to be sent for analysis.
"Results will be sent directly to you.
"Please do not visit the council offices if you have Covid-19 symptoms and please do not visit if you know you have been in contact with a person with symptoms
"Also you should not have a test if you have previously tested positive via a PCR test in the last 12 weeks - as this can give a false result.
"When visiting the council offices - remember you must wear a mask and keep a safe distance."
