ALMOST 50 cannabis plans have been found in a police raid in Benfleet.
The Castle Point Policing Team along with Essex Police's Operation Support Group carried out the raid on Monday.
The raid was part of Operation Falcon, aiming to disrupt criminal activities on Canvey and the rest of Castle Point.
No one was at the property on Arundel Road when police raided the home.
A spokesman for the team said: "With the assistance of officers from our Operational Support Group, the Community Policing Team & OpFalcon officers executed a section 23 drugs warrant at an address in Arundel Road, Benfleet yesterday 11th January.
"Unfortunately on this occasion nobody was home when we knocked! Didn't prevent us gaining access of course.
"Forty-nine cannabis plants were found in a cultivation across two converted rooms.
"The plants and equipment were seized and enquiries continue to identify the occupants.
"This warrant was successful due to the intelligence that we receive from the community."
