A DRIVER had to be rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped in her car following a crash with a lorry.
Crews from Basildon and Grays were called to a road traffic accident close to the Sadlers Farm Roundabout, in Benfleet, at 9.18pm on Saturday.
On arrival, the three teams of firefighters discovered a lorry and a car had devastatingly smashed into each other leaving a woman trapped.
They then worked to safely remove the roof of her car in order to gain access to her.
After successfully removing her from the vehicle by 10.23pm, the woman was left in the care of paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service.
