A DRIVER was trapped in his overturned lorry following a crash on the A130 tonight.

Firefighters were tonight called to the scene of the road smash on the A130 this evening.

Crews from Chelmsford, Great Baddow, Rayleigh Weir and the urban search and rescue section were called to the crash on the A130 near Rettendon.

Police tonight closed a section of the road as rescue crews freed the man from the lorry.

On arrival, crews confirmed that one man was trapped in a lorry following the incident.

The vehicle had overturned. No other vehicles were involved.

An Essex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters worked hard to make the scene safe and release the man by 6.10pm, before leaving him in the care of the Ambulance Service."
