A surgery has issued a stark warning after being informed of a "suspicious nurse" attending a patient's home to offer the Covid vaccine.

The Audley Mills Surgery, based on Eastwood Road, Rayleigh, say they will not turn up unannounced at someone's home to offer a vaccination.

Instead, the team say all vaccinations will be booked through the surgery and patients will be contacted with an invite to visit the surgery - unless they are housebound.

The practice say that even if in this instance, they will always phone before attending someone's home and have warned that should a patient be suspicious, they should contact Essex Police.

"Please be aware that we will NOT turn up unannounced at your home to offer you a vaccination.

"All vaccinations are being booked through the surgery and you will be contacted with an invite to attend our premises unless you are housebound where will always telephone you before we attend.
