A MAN and woman are set to stand trial over the death of a man outside a bar.
Dennie Griffiths and Jade Chambers have denied their involvement in the death of Matthew Bion outside Reids bar in Billericay.
Mr Bion, 31, from Wickford, died of injuries sustained on August 18, 2019 following an altercation outside the bar on Laindon Road at 1.15am.
Mr Bion died on August 27, and a post-mortem examination recorded that he died as a result of head injuries.
Griffiths, 27, of Hermitage Drive, Laindon, denies one count of manslaughter, while Chambers, 24, also of Hermitage Drive, denies assisting an offender.
Both are set to stand trial on September 5 this year at Basildon Crown Court.
The defendants have been released on bail until the trial takes place.
