TRIBUTES and flowers have been left in Southend for a woman who was abducted from the streets and killed.
The tributes have been left outside Southend Victoria Station, with messages of support for the 33-year-old marketing executive Sarah Everard.
Ms Everard's body was found in some woodland in Ashford, Kent this week after she went missing from Clapham Common in London when walking home from a friend's house.
A serving Metropolitan Police officer, Wayne Couzens, has been charged with her kidnap and murder.
The tributes left outside the station in Southend include a picture of Ms Everard and the words "She was walking home".
A verse from the song 'Mother!' by English rock band Idles concerning sexual violence and women's struggles was also displayed.
Reclaim These Streets, a group set up to raise awareness of women's safety and male violence in the wake of Ms Everard's death, has encouraged people to join a doorstep vigil at 9.30pm tonight.
The group have said it would be joining people across the country and “shining a light, a candle, a torch, a phone, to remember Sarah Everard and all the women affected by and lost to violence”.
This evening at 9:30pm we will be joining people around the country in a doorstep vigil, standing on our doorsteps and shining a light – a candle, a torch, a phone – to remember Sarah Everard and all women affected by and lost to violence. #ReclaimTheseStreets pic.twitter.com/C7BoBuQttZ

The group were previously planning to hold vigils in Clapham Common and across the country, but these have been cancelled due to the Covid-19 restrictions.
A fundraiser set up by the group for women’s charitable causes has already eclipsed its £320,000 target.
