POLICE descended into a street in Pitsea with reports of a "naked man" running around.
Multiple police vehicles were spotted in Felmores in Pitsea near Northlands Park at around 11am.
Reports online suggest that a man was running around the area without any clothes on.
Witnesses reported seeing around ten police cars attending the scene and blocking off the road.
Traffic was delayed while police attended the scene.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in Felmores, Pitsea, shortly before 10.50am this morning.
"We attended and a man was sectioned under the Mental Health Act 1983.
"He was taken to a safe place and has been left in the care of medical professionals."
