PONY and trap racers were reported for several traffic offences after blocking a major road.
The Essex Roads Policing Team received reports vehicles were blocking the A127 in the Brentwood area yesterday.
The purpose of the moving blockade was to enable pony and trap racing.
Eventually officers, alongside the Essex Police Rural Engagement Team, managed to disrupt the dangerous event.
Two unregistered vehicles with no tax were subsequently seized by the force and those involved were reported for traffic offences.
Essex Police is now appealing for eyewitnesses and anyone with dashcam footage to contact 13@essex.police.uk.
