A RECYCLING centre is closed due to importance maintenance works being carried out on a section of railway.
The Pitsea Recycling Centre, in Pitsea Hall Lane, has been shut so Network Rail engineers can carry out emergency works on the nearby crossing.
Essex County Council has reminded residents about the closure and urged them to find alternative legal ways to dispose of unwanted waste.
A spokesman for the authority said: “Residents, please be advised the Pitsea Recycling Centre is closed due to emergency Network Rail maintenance taking place on the crossing.
“Please consider all options before travelling to another recycling centre as we are experiencing high levels of demand.”
