A booking error saw patients given Covid vaccine appointments when their jab centre was not staffed.

Residents took to the Runnymede Hall Vaccine Centre - based in Kiln Road, Thundersley - earlier this morning (April 7) after an error with the national booking system.

As a result of the problem, patients were given appointments at times when staff were not manning the site.

Castle Point MP Rebecca Harris says she has since spoken to the local NHS team, who have apologised for the error.

Patients who were given an appointment this morning and were not able to go in can return this afternoon for their vaccine.

Ms Harris, said: "The Runnymede Hall Vaccine Centre is open today.

"Due to an error with the National Booking system, residents were given appointments this morning when the centre was not staffed.

"However, I have spoken to the local NHS team, who have apologised for this error and said if you had an appointment this morning and were not able to go in, you can return this afternoon to get your jab.

"Please only attend if you have a booking today."
