A MOTORIST has been taken to hospital after a crash on a busy roundabout.
Essex Police have closed off a section of the Sadlers Farm roundabout which links the A13, A130 and London Road near Bowers Gifford.
Reports online say as many as 13 police cars attended the scene this afternoon following the crash at around 2.30pm.
There are major delays on all approaches to the roundabout.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service Trust said: "We responded to an emergency call shortly before 2.30pm regarding an incident on London Road, Basildon.
"One ambulance attended the scene and transported a patient to Basildon & Thurrock Hospital."
It is not known how serious the patient's injuries are or how long the road will be closed for.
Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
Essex Police have been contacted for comment.
