A man was left with a bloody nose and broken glasses after being punched in the face during an attack in Rayleigh.

Police were called around 9.40pm after reports that a man in his 20s had been approached by two men as he sat in King George's Park in an undercover seated area with his friends.

It is alleged one of the men - who was described as being in his late teens - hit the victim in the face, causing a nosebleed and damaging his glasses.

Both men then walked off towards the town centre.

The teenager has been described as around being 5ft 7ins tall, and wore a grey tracksuit and black body warmer style jacket.

Essex Police are now hoping to speak to anyone who was in the area on April 9 around the time and witnessed the attack, or saw men matching this description.
