A GANG of crooks went on a spree of break-ins which saw them steal an Xbox game and an Amazon package, days after one of them stole a Jaguar.

Billy Alder, Billy Mundy and Shane Haggar could face prison sentences after admitting to the string of crimes.

The spree came days after Haggar broke into another home and stole a Jaguar.

The men, from Basildon, broke into the Billericay homes with the intent to steal items inside.

Basildon Crown Court heard that Haggar, 19, of Lincoln Road, had broken into a home in The Vale, Stock and stolen a car key and wallet on March 9 this year.

On the same day, Hagger broke into a home in Billericay and stole car keys, cash, and the Jaguar car.

Four days later, on March 13, the trio carried out their spree at homes in Prince Edward Road, Mons Avenue, Stansted Close and other areas of the town.

The crooks targeted five homes in total, each time forcing their way in as trespassers and looking for items to steal.

They only stole from one home in Prince Edward Road, where a handbag, Amazon parcel, set of keys and Xbox game were taken.

Within the space of two days after the spree, all men had been caught and arrested by the police.

Alder, 20, of Ward Close, Basildon, and Mundy, 20, of Trindehay, Basildon, were charged with one count of burglary and four counts of attempted burglary, while Haggar was also charged with the Stock burglaries.

Haggar and Mundy, who were remanded in custody, appeared by video link dressed in dark prison-issue clothing and wearing face masks.

They showed little emotion and were slumped in their chairs as they accepted their guilt.

The trio are set to be sentenced at the same court at the beginning of June.

Judge Ian Graham said: “I am adjourning the case for pre-sentence reports. This is no indication of what the final outcome of the case will be, but it’s in your interests to cooperate.”

Alder was released on bail until the hearing with the condition that he must be at home by 9pm.
