HOSPITAL staff are looking forward to welcoming expectant mums back into a maternity ward.
The Cedar Ward at Basildon Hospital has completed its refurbishment which began at the start of February.
The works lasted eight weeks and saw the facilities for the expecting mums improved including beds and medical equipment.
The antenatal and postnatal wards of the hospital were moved to a different location while the work was carried out.
The new facilities were visited by Diane Sarkar, chief nursing officer for the Mid and South Essex Hospitals Trust.
She said: “It was fabulous to see staff excited to be welcoming women into the refurbished Cedar ward in maternity on Monday.
“It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and positivity from the team, thank you to all for making this happen for our women.”
