Here are some of the men jailed this week in the courts.

Firstly Heine Esterhuizen a convicted rapist from Southend has been jailed for six years.

The 25-year-old of Royal Mews, had denied raping the woman in the town in 2017.

But following a trial at Basildon Crown Court, he was found unanimously guilty of three counts of rape.

He was acquitted on one count of causing actual bodily harm.

Judge Samantha Cohen, who addressed Esterhuizen as he shook with nerves in the dock, said that his defence that nothing had happened was "ludicrous" when looking at messages that showed he asked the victim to take the morning after pill.

A teenager held a man in place while his drug lord boss stabbed him to death in a “frenzied attack”.

Two teens have been detained for life with a minimum term of 12 and 14 years for murdering Lee Chapman in Southend on March 6 last year.

Lamar Davis and a 17 year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were found guilty of murder on 15 December.

At Basildon Crown Court on Monday 26 April Davis was jailed for life with a minimum of 14 years and additional two years for drug offences, while the 17 year-old was given life with a minimum of 14 years.

A VIOLENT thug strangled his ex-partner and launched a table at her as well as threatening to kill her over Snapchat.

Ricky Fedden assaulted the woman on several occasions after being released from prison where he had been serving time for previously attacking her.

The 29-year-old had been in a relationship with the woman, from Southend and was jailed in 2018 for offences against her and released in April last year.

Judge Ian Graham jailed Fedden for one year and six months.
