A HUGE tree is blocking a road in Leigh after strong winds blew it over last night.
The silver birch tree is still blocking Elmsleigh Drive after the 60mph gusts.
Reports suggest the fallen tree is at the north junction of Blenheim Chase on the road.
Cars have been unable to drive through the road as a result of the tree.
Weather experts have warned strong winds are set to batter the county today.
Guests of up to 50mph are expected for some inland areas and could increase to 65mph on the south coast.
Met Office bosses warned there could be disruption on transport and some tree branches may fall due to the stormy weather.
A spokesman said: "Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely. Probably some bus and train services will also affected, with some journeys taking longer.
"“Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely. Damage to outdoor temporary structures is possible, with some tree branches down too.
"It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and or large waves.”
