A HUNT is on for weapons that were used during a stabbing where a man was killed.

Essex Police are urging anyone who has information on the whereabouts of a weapon that was used to kill a man in his 30s in Laindon.

The victim was found with stab wounds in Iris Mews on Sunday at 9.30pm, and sadly died at the scene.

Five teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

Det Chief Spt Stephen Jennings has emplored anyone with information to come forward to police if they have not already done so.

Spt Jennings said that officers are looking to trace any weapons that might have been discarded in the estate surrounding Iris Mews.

He said: “We are really keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything happen in Iris Mews shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who has seen any discarded weapons in the area.

“If anyone knows anything about this murder and has not yet come forward to speak to us, please do. A family has been broken apart, and we need to get to the bottom of what happened.”
