BASILDON leisure centres have invested a whopping £1million to make a number of improvements to their gym facilities.

Basildon Sporting Village, Eversley Leisure Centre, and Wickford Swim and Fitness Centre began works to their fitness facilities earlier this month to help provide a better experience for members. 

The £1million investment included the replacement of all existing kit at Basildon Sporting Village’s 100-station fitness suite and Eversley Leisure Centre’s 60-station gym.

New equipment has now been added, including wattbikes, a plate loaded resistance kit, an Olympic power rack, a squat rack and scott bench. 

The flooring and signage has also been replaced at all three centres.

Basildon Sporting Village now boasts new changing facilities and a refurbished group exercise studio including a new wooden sprung floor, updated air conditioning and new group cycling bikes.

All three centres will be adding virtual classes to their group exercise offering to allow more classes and spaces.

These new classes will launch on Monday, May 17.

The centres are run by Everyone Active in partnership with Basildon Council.
