A NEW mobile testing unit is in operation in a leisure centre car park.

The Clements Hall leisure centre in Hawkwell car park will see the mobile testing unit open every day other than Saturdays.

The testing unit will provide PCR tests for those who are showing symptoms or have been asked to take a test.

The unit is for appointments only, which can be booked here.

A mobile testing unit is already operating from the Rayleigh Leisure Centre.

The Leader of Rochford Council, Simon Wootton said: “The addition of a another site at the Clements Hall Leisure Centre extends the options for PCR testing in the district and strengthens our ability to ensure our residents can be tested locally.

“Testing is vital in managing the spread of the virus and this facility will play a major role in helping to keep the district safe.”

Jon Richardson, business manager at the leisure centre, added: “Fusion Lifestyle is delighted to be able to support and work with the council with the addition of a mobile testing unit in the car park at Clements Hall leisure centre.

"With a unit already operating from Rayleigh Leisure Centre we know how important having these sites in the district are.”
