A VIOLENT thug left his ex-partner "petrified" when barged into her home and violently attacking her - despite being banned from there.

Miciej Grzebieniak has been spared jail despite breaching a restraining order against his ex-partner that he had previously attacked.

The 30-year-old of Genesta Road, Westcliff, had gone to the woman's home in south Essex on February 3 this year, despite being banned from going near her.

Grzebieniak knocked on the door and tried to give the woman a bunch of roses, but the woman warned him that he shouldn't be there and told him to leave or she would call the police.

Grzebieniak became enraged at this and forced passed her into the front room where he began his attack.

He grabbed the woman by the neck, punched her, and threw her down onto her bed.

I jumped onto her, trying to assault her more, but the victim bravely managed to fight him off, and he then left the house.

The woman phoned her sister who came around to help, and the police were called who arrested Grzebieniak at 8.13pm.

Basildon Crown Court heard that the woman suffered injuries to her neck, face and thigh.

Grzebieniak went on to admit breaching his restraining order.

Mitigating, Adam Budworth said Grzebieniak's offending is caused by alcohol, but he now accepts the relationship is "over".

He said: "It's aggravated by the common assault, the root cause of the problem is alcohol, he needs to address that issue, and the writer of the pre-sentence report recognises that.

"He's a good man, he just has a problem with alcohol. He works extremely hard.

"He worked up to six days a week at a car wash. If he were released he would be able to return to work immediately."

Recorder Karl King told Grzebieniak: "Your former partner must have found herself absolutely petrified by your arrival, unwelcome and uninvited on that occasion.

"At her home, without warning when she opened the door you forced your way into her home.

"That itself is frightening enough but she would have been resisting your entry and asking you to leave.

"You delivered those injuries to her no doubt as she resisted to protect herself."

Grzebieniak was given eight months in jail suspended for 18 months with 150 hours of unpaid work and 30 days rehabilitation.
