A “BULLY” hurled a tirade of abuse against his ex-partner and threatened to shoot her if he saw her with anyone else.

Daniel Hayward has been locked up for sending a barrage of hateful messages and calls, including trying to call the woman 200 times on one day.

The 35-year-old, of Long Riding, Basildon, was told by a judge that he has an “uncontrollable temper” and that he dishes out threats “when things don’t go his way”.

Hayward was released from prison in August last year.

However, things nose-dived in March this year when he became angry and aggressive.

Judge Samantha Cohen said: “There came a point in early March this year when things stopped going well and you reverted to your previous aggressive, unpleasant, threatening, bullying behaviour.

“On March 2 you started to accuse her of seeing other men."

The judge said that on March 10 he tried to call her 38 times.

She continued: “On March 11 you told her you would shoot her if you saw her with anyone else.

“Phone records show you called her between 100 and 200 times.”

In a victim impact statement, Hayward’s victim says she now struggles to go anywhere alone.

She said: “After everything that has happened I need to get away. Because he knows where I live I will need to move taking me away from my support network.

“If he’s bailed I know I won’t be in Basildon anymore."

Mitigating, Sasha Bailey said: “He accepts that it can’t go on like this any further and the relationship with the complainant has come to an end.”

Judge Cohen told Hayward: “It’s difficult to see you in any other way then a person that has an uncontrollable temper. You are abusive and aggressive and threatening when things start not going your way.” Hayward was jailed for two years.
