A BRAVE police dog cornered a suspect of a serious attack in Southend.
Police Dog McCoy was the first on the scene of the attack in Southend on Thursday this week.
Essex Police Dog Section has praised the work of the top pooch for stopping the suspect and finding a weapon discarded nearby.

A spokesman said: "After a serious assault in Southend PD McCoy was quickly on scene, first locating the suspect and preventing his escape.
"Then finding the weapon used, discarded nearby.
"Vital nose work to gather evidence helping investigators and ultimately the victim."
