A driver has been fined after leaving their broken-down car in the middle of the A13.
Police only found out about the vehicle after a passer-by had got in touch to say there was a car blocking one of the carriageways of the road near Basildon.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the driver had even abandoned the vehicle and was not in sight.
They arranged for the car to be removed from the roadside and have since tracked down the motorist and handed them three points on their licence, as well as a fine.
Police say they will also be charging the owner the recovery fees.

Driver of this car MAY have broken down but simply abandond it in a dangerous position on the @A13essex. They didn't even call police, a passer by did.
They now have our recovery charges to fund and a fixed penalty for abandoning it. 3pts & £100.
