SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is continuing his search for a new goalkeeper.
With previous first choice keeper Mark Oxley set to move on this summer Brown wil be bringing in another shot-stopper.
And the Blues boss has held talks with a number of potential targets.
"I would say we have five or six goalkeepers we’ve spoken to," said Brown.
"I’m meeting with a League standard goalkeeper at the weekend and if he says yes we could have it done by Monday.
"I’ve got a couple of under 23 goalkeepers who could fit the bill as well.
"They’re six foot three and a decent standard but I don’t want to be anyone’s experiment if I’m honest.
"I’d like someone who has a bit of experience already if possible."
Blues already have goalkeeper Harry Seaden signed up for next season.
The 20-year-old has made four senior appearances for the Shrimpers.
