Police have confirmed a woman has died following an incident on the railway line in south Essex.
British Transport Police says officers were called to the line between East Tilbury and Tilbury Town stations amid reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics were also called to the incident but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesman said: "This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Police were called out to the line at about 10.25am on Saturday, June 12.
c2c had warned of delays at the time to some services due to what it described as a "police incident".
