A Southend festival has been forced to reschedule its event following the Prime Minister's announcement last night to delay Freedom Day.

Hundreds of party-goers were set to flock to the Summertime Live open air concert in Garon Park next month.

However, bosses announced the disappointing news that they would have to push back the event that has already been postponed for a year as a result of the pandemic.

A new date is set to be announced in the coming days, with organisers reassuring customers that their tickets will be rolled over to the new date.

If the new date is not suitable to those with tickets, a refund will be offered.

The concert will be headlined by the Urban Soul Orchestra, who will perform their Classic Ibiza set.

Summertime Live said: "It is with great frustration that we have to announce, due to the Government delaying the easing of restrictions, this event will now need to be rescheduled to another date later this summer. We will announce the new date in the coming days and notify all ticket holders.

"Your tickets will automatically rollover to the new date and you will not need to do anything in order to action this. If the new date is not suitable, you will also be offered the opportunity to request a refund.

"Needless to say we are truly gutted to have to wait longer until we get to party with you all and apologise for any inconvenience this situation may cause.” Will build some reaction to this."
