A "very serious incident" has taken place on a major road in Thorpe Bay where a car flipped over in a crash.
A councillor has advised residents to avoid Thorpe Hall Avenue and the surrounding roads following the incident.
The incident is understood to have happened within the last hour.
Alex Bright, ward councillor for Southchurch, said: "I understand that there has been a very serious incident on Thorpe Hall Avenue, Southchurch, Southend.
"The road and those surrounding it should be avoided if travelling through the area.

"My thoughts and prayers are with all those involved and their families."
It is not known if anyone has been seriously injured as a result.
Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
