Crash sees road closed in both directions
A CRASH resulted in a busy road being closed in both directions.
Sutton Road, in Southend, was shut down by police officers on Friday night.
The force had attended the scene following a crash between East Street and A13 Southchurch Road.
Traffic had to be diverted as a result of the incident.
An eyewitness said: "The bollards in the middle of the road and a white van were hit, and a car also smashed into a lamppost."
Essex Police has been contacted for comment.
