PICTURES have shown a heavy police presence in Eastwood this morning.
Several police vans and sniffer dogs were spotted along Progress Road.
Essex Police said colleagues in Kent were dealing with the incident.
However, despite requests, there was no response from the force.
Businesses nearby told the Echo the officers were on scene for most of the day and some workers were not allowed on site.
One worker said: “We were told we could not get to our business so I could not go into work.”
Another worker of a nearby business said there were still three vans on the scene, including Kent Police vehicles, at about 4pm yesterday.

The vans were parked closed to Tapp'd Cocktails, with officers and the dogs in the car park.
Managers at the Tapp'd Cocktail business insisted the incident is "nothing to do with them."
Essex Police was contacted for comment.
