Drugs and guns were seized during a dramatic raid at an industrial estate.
Several police vans and sniffer dogs, including vehicles from Essex Police and Kent Police were spotted near businesses off Progress Road and Rutherford Close, yesterday.
Businesses nearby told the Echo the officers were on scene for most of the day and some workers were not allowed on site.
One worker said: “We were told we could not get to our business so I could not go into work.”
Another worker of a nearby business said there were still three vans on the scene, including Kent Police vehicles, at about 4pm yesterday.
Witnesses said there were lots of people standing about watching police.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "On Monday 5 July 2021, investigators from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate executed a search warrant at premises on Progress Road, Eastwood.
"Officers seized quantities of class A and B drugs along with a stun gun and a firearm. A 61-year-old man and 36-year-old woman were both arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences and possession of a prohibited weapon. They were later released pending further investigation."
