A woman was attacked during an aggravated burglary when men armed with knives stormed a Vange property.

Police have now launched a probe into the assault, which took place last night (July 6).

Fortunately, the victim - a woman in her 40s - did not suffer serious injury but she has been left shaken by the incident and is being supported by officers.

It is understood nothing was taken during the aggravated burglary, which happened at a property in Polsteads just before 8.30pm,  but police understand that the men were armed with knives.

At this time, the force believe this was a targeted incident and have assured there is no risk to the wider public.
