With England set to take Denmark on in the semi-finals tonight, some football fans have gone above and beyond with decorations for the big game.

One football fan decorated his home with 56 England flags in a bid to raise money for charity throughout the Euros competition.

Lee Johnson, 35, spent around four days decorating his house on Falstones, Basildon, ahead of the competition.

Lee, his wife Nicola and his four children are hoping to raise as much money as possible for charity Brain Tumour after Nicola's cousin was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Lee said: "My wife's cousin who is only 45 has recently been suffering from headaches. He got checked over and it turned out he had a brain tumour.

"It was looking good and like it was going to be OK but when they did another scan it had got worse and come back bigger.

"He's only been given another 12 to 18 months to live."

In a bid to raise funds for the charity, Lee covered his home with England flags and bunting to mark the long-awaited football Euros Championships.

The family are hoping to raise money for the Brain Tumour charity Lee added: "I was going to decorate the house anyway but we said this time we were going to go all out and raise money for charity.

"The charity sent us some of the decorations and bunting.

"I didn't really plan on doing it this big but with everything going on I thought we might as well make it worthwhile. The bigger, the better.

"After the year we've had, we just wanted to make people smile.

"I know he appreciates what we're doing."

With 56 flags stuck to the front of his home, Lee has attracted a lot of attention from passer-bys.

"I've had quite a lot of comments. It took a long time to put up. It's brilliant to see it come together.

"We have people driving passed the house and bib their horns.

"People shout out 'England' and say 'good on you'.

"The kids are it's all up and they like it."

The family are planning on keeping the decorations until the end of the tournament, and have invited people to come by and have their photo taken outside.

Lee added: "People are more than welcome to the house, if they want to bring their kids, and have a photo taken outside.

"No matter how big or small a donation, it all helps and we're so grateful."
