Filming for a new TV series made by the company behind the critically acclaimed Killing Eve has taken place on Canvey.
Crews were spotted filming a scene for Ragdoll outside an address in Eastern Esplanade yesterday.
Residents in the area had been pre-warned about the operation through a letter seen by the Echo.
It revealed filming would be taking place between 3pm and midnight and police and ambulance vehicles would be involved.
Residents were also warned one scene would involve one of the characters breaking down the front door of the property.
Temporary traffic lights were set up along Eastern Esplanade to keep film crews, drivers and pedestrians safe.
The letter added: “We are very grateful to be able to visit your area for our project and are mindful are guests in your neighborhood.
“We are aware we are filming after hours in a residential area and will keep noise to an absolute minimum.”
The letter was sent out by Sid Gentle Films, which is best known for producing the BBC’s hit show, Killing Eve.
Ragdoll is a new police crime thriller which will be shown on Alibi in the UK.
It features Henry Lloyd-Hughes who starred in the second series of Killing Eve, American actress Lucy Hale – best known for her role in Bionic Woman – and Thalissa Teixeira( Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw).
The series is based on the novel with the same name, written by Daniel Cole.
It follows the investigation into the murder of six people who have been dismembered and reshaped into a ‘ragdoll’ Filming began earlier this year but it is not yet known when the series will air.
