Three major supermarkets are changing their opening hours around England's Euro 2020 final.

Co-op and Tesco Express have both said they will close early on Sunday so staff can watch England play in the final.

Both chains will close at 7.45pm so their employees can get home for the 8pm kick-off.

Co-op will reportedly close more than 2,000 stores across England early. And the petrol forecourt stores will close at the same time and reopen at 11pm.

Tesco will do the same in it's Express stores.

And should England win, Lidl have said they will open an hour later in their English stores to allow staff more time to celebrate.

In most places, this means they will open at 9am instead of 8am.

Lidl GB CEO Christian Härtnagel said in The Grocer: “Sunday’s final marks a huge occasion in history so, if England are victorious, we have decided to delay our store openings by one hour.

“At Lidl, the reason for our success is our people and our teamwork, which is why we want our teams to be able to celebrate for a little longer if the England team bring it home.”

Schools and workplaces have been told they will be allowed to open later than usual on Monday, the morning after England’s Euro 2020 clash with Italy.
