A new axe-throwing adventure bar will be opening in south Essex later this week.

Boom Battle Bar is opening its first venue in the county in Lakeside on Friday.

The bar offers a wide range of games including axe throwing, indoor curling, augmented reality darts, crazier golf, giant shuffleboards, beer pong and karaoke.

Food and drinks, including selected beers and cocktails, will also be on offer at the state of the art venue, which cost around £2m to create.

The bar will be creating up to 50 new jobs and replaces an old food hall at Lakeside.

Echo:

Elliott Shuttleworth, Boom Battle Bar’s CEO, said:" We are so pumped to finally be able to open our new flagship site in Essex. “This build has been a long time coming and we’ve gone full throttle so ensure the games, the food and the cocktails are 10 out of 10 across the board.”

He added:" Shopping centres don't have the same organic pull they used to- so we are switching it up.

"People are forming new habits and shopping culture has fundamentally shifted to online retail. That's why I believe Boom is so special - competitive socialising is something you're never going to be able to do remotely.

Echo:

" We’ve got games that they’ll never have played before. We’ve got fully themed cocktails and we’ve got tasty street food . We guarantee everyone is going to absolutely love our new site!"

Boom Battle Bar has only opened three other sites in the UK so far, in Norwich, Cardiff and Liverpool.

There are plans to open more however in London, Manchester and Scotland.

Boom Battle Bar is also set to open its second venue in Essex after getting planning permission for a new site in Chelmsford.
