Filming for a new crime thriller has been taking place in south Essex this month.

Crews have been spotted filming scenes for the first series of Ragdoll on both Canvey and Southend seafront.

Canvey councillor Dave Blackwell says it has created a buzz in the area and is hopeful it will help to put it on the map.

So here is everything we know about the new series and the scenes that have been shot in south Essex.

Where has filming taken place?

Residents on Canvey were pre-warned about a day of filming in Eastern Esplanade at the start of the month.

Scenes were shot outside an address in the road, with many excited residents watching on.

Emergency service vehicles featured in the scene, while the front door at the property was also broken down as part of filming.

Further scenes have been shot near to Sealife Adventure in Southend, with signs set up in the area warning they were likely to be in the background of scenes during filming.
