POLICE have given an update on the three people arrested in connection with the death of a man in Northlands Park, Pitsea.

Two men arrested on Wednesday have been released on bail and a 17-year-old boy has been released without charge and faces no further action.

Officers were called to the park at 1.35am on Sunday where they found a man in his 40s with a stab wound to his stomach.

He was taken to hospital but, sadly, later died there.

Police have now made eight arrests in connection with the death of the victim.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Scott Egerton, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “This continues to be a very fast-moving and thorough investigation and we are leaving no stone un-turned.

“We know there may still be people out there who have information on this incident and have not yet come forward to speak to us and we would encourage them to do so.

“Each person who has been released on bail is still under police investigation and we anticipate making further arrests in the coming days and weeks.”
