A biker in his 50s was taken to hospital after a crash with a car.
The vehicles crashed in Uppermayne, Basildon at the junction with St Nicholas Lane at about 8am this morning.
Traffic was heavy and was queuing on most approaches and witnesses said paramedics were on scene.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers responded to a collision this morning between a motorcyclist and car along Uppermayne, Basildon.
"The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, has been taken to hospital for further treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The road was closed to allow emergency services to attend but has since reopened.
"Anyone who may have seen the collision or may have dashcam footage is asked to please contact us on 101, quoting incident 262 of today."
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We were called to Upper Mayne at around 8.15am today following reports of a crash. Crews treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him to Basildon Hospital for further assessment and care.”
